Modeled for manufacture, not for looks

A product model that cannot be made is a very expensive drawing. Wall thicknesses that no process can hold, tolerances stacked without anyone checking, features that require a tool that does not exist, fasteners that cannot be reached with any real driver.

ARIA models with the process in mind. Tell us how it is getting made — machined, sheet metal, cast, injection molded, printed, welded — and the geometry gets built to suit it.

What you get

  • Part and assembly modeling — parametric, properly constrained, and rebuildable when the design changes.
  • Fabrication and detail drawings — fully dimensioned with tolerances, GD&T where warranted, material callouts, finishes, and notes a shop can quote from.
  • Sheet metal development — flat patterns, bend allowances, and forming geometry that matches your fabricator’s tooling.
  • Weldments and structural fabrication — frames, brackets, skids, and weld symbols done correctly.
  • BOM and assembly documentation — parts lists, balloon drawings, and exploded views for assembly instructions.
  • Reverse engineering — an existing part measured or scanned and turned into a clean parametric model you can modify.
  • Design iteration support — you have the concept and the engineering; we do the modeling hours so you can run more variants than you otherwise would.

Where this comes from

Mechanical work sits slightly outside the building-design world most drafting shops live in, which is exactly why it is hard to buy. Product companies, fabricators, and equipment manufacturers often need modeling capacity in bursts and cannot justify a full-time seat. That is the same overflow problem AEC firms have, in a different industry.

Confidentiality

Product work is frequently pre-release, patentable, or competitively sensitive. NDAs are welcome and standard here — send yours or use ours. ARIA is US-based, which matters when a client has export control, ITAR-adjacent, or contractual restrictions that rule out offshore production.

What to send

Sketches, a napkin drawing, a photograph of a prototype, measurements, an existing STEP file, or a description. Tell us the manufacturing process, the quantity, and the tolerance that actually matters — most parts have exactly one or two dimensions that are critical, and knowing which ones changes how the model gets built.

Common questions

Do you do engineering analysis or FEA?

No. ARIA provides modeling and drafting support; structural, thermal, and safety analysis stays with your engineer. We will build geometry ready for analysis and hand it over in the format your analyst needs.

Can you reverse engineer an existing part?

Yes. From measurements, a scan, or the physical part documented by someone on your side. You get a clean parametric model you can modify, not a dumb solid.

Will you sign an NDA?

Yes, routinely. Send yours or use ours. Pre-release product work is a normal part of this practice.

What manufacturing processes do you model for?

Machining, sheet metal, weldments, casting, injection molding, and additive. Tell us the process and quantity up front — it changes the geometry, not just the drawing.
